2nd Quarter, okay, so I take it this does not include any orders of the new Powerbooks. Right? Do they mean second calendar quarter or Apple's second quarter which, I believe, is one forward? Must be me, too early in the morning to read that analysis.

    [Edit]

Okay, this marks the end of Apple's 4th Quarter.

    Calendar: Jan-Mar / Apr-June / Jul-Sep / Oct-Dec

    Apple: Oct-Dec / Jan-Mar / Apr-June / Jul-Sep

Jan-Mar is too far back to only hear analysis now, so therefore the article refers to calendar Q2 (Apr-June).

    Yes?

This is a great line and shows the value of slashing prices!

Interestingly, IBM had the biggest sequential jump in laptop sales in the U.S. for Windows-based portables, according to Promisel, with a 37 percent jump. Sony sales dropped 24 percent, with Toshiba dropping 22 percent. "IBM has lowered prices to be aggressive while Sony and Toshiba have not, " said Promisel. "Price was the deciding factor in whose sales surged and whose sales faltered."

Let's cut powerbook prices by $200 - $500 and watch the sales rise!
