Unfortunately, Apple shares have been hit unmercifully the past few days. Wall Street doesn't really believe in Apple and it's a fight all the timeto get respect even when Apple has good news.

The market always goes soft before earnings come out. Along with the Apple Records suit and the fact that the stock did run-up a bit previously and stagnating for the past couple of weeks, I don't see anything odd about profit taking.

Apple's stock will start to rise in a quarter or two. Mind you, I am only talking about a 10-20% rise that will be washed out at the first hit of trouble, but if I had the money on hand, I would buy Apple stock right now.

Things that will bump Apple's stock upward:

    iTMS for windows

    10.3 going on sale

XServe G5 and Apple saying that they want to get into the corporate world

    Increased iPod marketshare

    Strong G5 sales

    Very strong PB sales

Note how the iMac isn't going to do anything that raises Apple's stock value. That machine needs a price reduction in time for Christmas.

The iMac, has never been a large money maker for Apple. The pro products, iPod and software is where the profits have come from. A "new" iMac will probably come at MWSF with slightly different styling and a higher rez screen. Apple shares are up today. With the US economy the way it is, it's amazing that Apple has been able to generate any profit. Despite the whinning around here sometimes, Apple is doing very well thank you. Onward and upward.
