1.6 w/2GB or Dual w/ 512: Which is Faster?

Just as an exercise for the fun of it:

Which would get better benchmarks:

a standard G5 1.6 with 2GB of ram for $3,174

or

a standard Dual G5 2.0 with the standard 512mb of ram for $2,999?

I'm not arguing which would be a wiser investment or which CTO build would work better, I'm just wondering is memory more important or processor speed in this extreme and silly scenario.

I don't know. I don't have either, but I'd bet the dual would win.

It depends on the benchmark : MP3 encoding the dual will win without any doubt.

Huge photoshop file, advantage for the single, if the dual is forced to swap too much.

In general the dual will win easily.
