How long is "in production"

For those of you lucky dogs whose DP G5s have shipped (especially CTOs), did any of you keep track of how long yours was "in production?"

I ordered on 8/13 and my ship date has said 10/24 since then. I just called Apple and they told me that my computer is in production. Should I be giddy about this?

I don't think it takes more than a day for the machines to be built.

I talked to an Apple rep on Tuesday who told me my machine was it the late stages of being built. I didn't receive the shipping notice and tracking number until today, Friday. I've heard other people who had their machines built and shipped on the same day.

Apple also upgraded my shipping to priority overnight for free.

Sounds like it time to start feeling giddy. There are people who ordered right after the keynote who until yesterday who's machines had yet to be built. I would guess that your machine will arrive in less than a week if your shipping is one or two day.

Thanks for the response! This is very exciting.

I am going to channel my giddiness by cleaning up my home office a little to make way for the new arrival.
