How do I terminate dead programs?

I'm a recent switcher, and I don't know the Mac equivalent of Ctrl-Alt-Del. America's Army has hung on me a few times, and I can't get out without turning off my entire machine.



Also, is there a scan disk type program on the Mac for when I shut off the machine without shutting down properly?

    command-alt-esc



    command is the key with the apple on it.

    It does it for you when you reboot. When you see the Apple logo on the screen with the spinning thing near the bottom, it's running fsck.
