Motorola Splits Chip Making Section

wow. finally. apparently motorola has decided to split its "Semiconductor Products Sector" from the main company. I wonder if this is good news or bad for Apple/Macintosh. On the one hand, finally we dont have to deal with moto again (even though apple is pretty much pushing toward ibm with the g5s, et al). on the other hand, will the new co. be better?
