I'm not sure about your Safari problem, but...

    There are several options.

    1. You can open a Get Info window for an individual file or a group of selected files by choosing Get Info from the Apple menu, pressing apple-i, or control-clicking the selection and choosing Get Intfo.

    2. You can open a dynamic Get Info window called the Inspector that will stay open and change its contents on the fly based on what you select in the Finder. To get this window, hold the option key while in he File menu and the Get Info item changes to Show Inspector.

    3. If you choose list view in the Finder window, you can set a column for size. By clicking the column header you can sort and switch between ascending and descending order.

    Hope this helps!

Try deleting the Icons folder (found in: user/libary/safari/icons). This is a mild speed up trick. Also, install the broadband optimizer hack. That works to help as well. Also try Mozilla 1.5b - it works great and is fast as safari on many pages.

It isn't you. It might just be Appleinsider. It is slow in safari and Moz all of a sudden. Maybe it's just damn 10.2.8.

If you don't pay your tour guide properly, they will make the safari run slow. You might even get eaten by the big game.

Safari should definitely not seem slower than Mac IE 5...even though Safari does seem to have suffered a slight slowdown since 10.2.8 (not so much for page loading, but accessing bookmarks and history sometimes get the spinning beachball) it still blows IE out of the water on my 1ghz TiBook.

Go to http://us.mcafee.com/root/speedometer.asp to see how your browsers match up. I remember getting results a good 20-30% higher when Safari first came out and I compared it to IE.

I just noticed that you're running 10.2.7....maybe that's where the problem is coming from?

You should be able to find more info by searching Apple's Safari discussion boards: http://discussions.info.apple.com/We...lm.2@.3bbdb2b0

It also seems that you're not the only one with this issue: http://discussions.info.apple.com/We....6@.599972e6/0
