I got a BTO 12inch PB with SuperDrive. I input the SN on the website but says I dont't qualify. I read in some threads about similar cases as mine. Any one who is able to get through? I purchased it on 24th but got it on the 7th of Oct.

Did you remove the hyphen/dash from the SN? I've read reports that this is the glitch experienced by others.

My serial number wouldn't go through when I tried it the first time on 10/8, the day of the Panther release anouncement. Yesterday, however, using exactly the same info (same date of purchase, same serial number with the same lack of dashes in it, same "Apple Online Store, Cupertino, CA") it worked fine. The $19.95 Panther update for my BTO 12" PB (ordered 9/16, shipped and invoiced 10/4, delivered 10/7 -- all before 10/8 ) is on it's way.
Perhaps it just takes longer for BTO serial numbers to get into the ordering system, so maybe if you try again later, it'll work for you.
I ordered my new powerbook on 10/7. The Apple rep I talked to said that anyone who RECEIVED their computer after the announcement date (10/8) was in the clear for the cheap upgrade. Hope that helps.
