is it safe to remove my Caches?

Hi,



is it safe to periodically trash everything in the home library chaches folder?



it gets quite large at times and I heard from an apple guy that cleaning it out periodically helps remove all sorts of persistent odd behaviour. I couldn't quite press him on what he meant though.



any ideas folks?

    yes...



    checkout www.macosxcocktail.com for a good utility that will do it automatically...



    nothing bad will happen if you delete your caches...

    Paul's suggestion isn't bad, but unfortunately it costs 10 $.



    OnyX on the other hand does the same things, but for free. Check it out.
