Printing Problem

Printer is stopped. That what my computer keeps on telling me. And when I go to print something there is a ! next to my printer name. When I select print it says printer is stopped and asks if I want to add it to the list or continue.

I thought that I might have some problems with my printer bc I bought a new color cartridge but it wouldn't print in color so I reloaded the software from HP's site (812C) but now I get this problem.

Though I can print a test page.

What is going on.

I traded printers with my dad and now I have his Desk Jet 935C and the same thing is happening. Please help.

Go to Print Center. Single-click on your printer. On the toolbar, on the right, click "start jobs" - it's the image of the printer with a green circle w/white right-facing arrow on it.

I've tried that but it just spools and then it stops the job again.

Running 10.28 now. This is really annoying since I am a student. The printer works fine on either of my roommates Windows machines.

Had the same problem with an Epson printer. I changed out the black ink then it would not print. I ended up deleting the printer in Printer Center. Then I added it again. Once I did that it all started printing properly.

I deleted it and then added it again from the drivers on the HP site. Still no luck. Come on Genuis bar help...

First, double click your printer in the printer list.

Then, make sure you press the right icon to start the queue:

Okay. It's the usual rundown then.

Delete the preferences of Print Center. Delete all your Caches. Repair your Permissions.

Did I forgot something for the start?

Did you try print center repair?

It helped me last time my print center didn't work properly. Actually it does the same things Defiant told you to do: deletes print center prefs & caches, repairs permissions etc.

I would try reinstalling the HP printer drivers as well. I sometimes forget this when I reinstall my system, and although my printer seems to be recognized, it doesn't actually do anything. It's similar to what you describe.

If that doesn't work, then I would also suggest the print center repair.
