emergency eject CD on iMac

I've an iMac DV SE with a buildt in Matsushita DVD-ROM drive.

There is a defective CD in the drive, which cause a system crash 1 second after the spin up.

After disabeling the Apple CD/DVD extention, the system starts without problems, but because the CD does not appear on the desktop, I can not eject the defective disk.

How can I remove the CD from this drive?

I believe that I have to open the iMac and remove the complete drive.

Does anybody know a web-link with instructions how to open the iMac?

Regards,

Fred

Hold the mouse button down when booting. This ejects all removable media.

Also if you look very closely at the foam cover at the front of the iMac CD ROM, there's a small whole on the right.

This is the old fashioned paper-clip eject CD. For when all else fails - Find a paper clip, straighten it out and gently push it into the whole. It may require a little pressure but don't force it. The iMac must be on while you perform this

I'd try what DisgruntledQS733Owner says first.

Just remembered you have to restart afterwards to use the CD drive again.

If you have OSX installed boot in to OSX and press F12 it ejected a cd that my friend could not get out of his imac.
