QT of my dual G5 launching 15 apps
Hi guys,
For those who do not have a dual G5 or are eagerly anticipating yours, I have made a quicktime movie of my dock launching 15 apps: (2.9MB QT)
Dual G5/1.5GB/9600 Launching my 15 most used apps!!
enjoy, and I am eager to see your responses.

Other than that, looks like the G5 is really frickin' fast.

Yes, MS Word is THE slowest app to launch. - Crazy!!!
Damn you for making me want one, jerk.
(BTW, this is me saying I AM VERY IMPRESSED)

Wanna know why Microsoft stuff is bloated, because microsoft does not remove old code, even if it is not needed, most of the old code they dont even know what it does, but if they remove it, it breaks the app so they leave it(this is true in the windows version anyways). thats what I was told when i used to do support for them. imagine that....
i know that Word don't like Suitcase very well.

I've gotta better idea. Command click all the apps you want to open at once in a Finder window, then record the movie, and hit Cmd-O.
That would be impressive!
That's true simultaneuosenism! m.

Your wish is my command/click:
another version with apps opened all at once (13.5MB):
All 15 Apps Opening All At Once
I only have 1GB of RAM though, so that may be the problem. It's significantly slower than the dual 2GHz...
1.6GHz G5 opening 15 apps
Hmmm...

what's the sweet dock thingy that slides it open like that?

It's just pinned to the right side...The only reason I do that is to keep the Trash icon stationary.

I'm using snapzpro for jaguar. its good for small things hence I did not do a full screen capture. Small window captures play smoothly.
Anyway, I can open
Terminal
ProjectBuilder
TextEdit
Universe Modeler 5 (Electric Image)
Universe Animator 5 (Electric Image)
Photoshop 7
Quark 6
Preview
Adobe Reader 6
iTunes
Safari
Adium
Mail
Address Book
Fairly quickly as in under 10secs.

tell us about it. why do you think it is slow?
Thought it might start a little 1.6GHz owner uproar... apparently this forum is less busy than I thought.

I would assume Ambrosia's SnapzX Pro. Nice little app.

i see no dock preference item for "pinning"
is there a haxie or some other UI mod required?
