imac dv 400 upgrading HD

im having a western digital HD 100gb 7200rpm upgrade

i can't find the speed of my old drive, how will it affect my boot up and use of software????what is the original HD in the imac dv 400??? can someone tell me my original speed?

    iMacs of that era used 5400 RPM drives. You'll probably notice some difference when launching applications and saving or loading large files. If you're lucky, your new drive may be significantly quieter, too.

    I will buy your old drive, if working and it being the quantum 13 gig. Mine just recently shorted out on the control board, and hopefully if your drive works, I can swap the boards. It has been done. I have listed a few forums in Genius bar, but not much help. Please help!!
