From what I've heard, but never done because I have never had one, is that you can get a stuck pixel to rub out by gently massaging the area in a circle. But if it's a pixel you can't get it to rub out. A stuck pixel is one that just doesn't respond to changing colors etc. as it should. If a pixel is stuck it usually just stays one color (blue, red, etc.) but if it's dead it doesn't display at all. I believe Apple just recently changed their dead pixel policy, search General Discussion for it. Or check http://apple.com/support/ for information on their policy and what your problem is.
Don't know if it works with dead ones, but you can try. Take a soft cloth like a towel or some kind of rag and softly rub the area around the dead pixel as well as over it. Thats the way to do it for stuck ones. I don't have an LCD but this is the way many people have gotten their dead/stuck pixels to come back to life.

Yeah, that works. I've had a stuck pixel on and off near the very top center of my screen. It periodically reappears and I massage it out again. Just make sure to press gently on the screen. A hard press can damage the LCD.
Cheers people. My pixels, I think, are stuck - red (purple). How hard do you press down and what is the likelyhood of this working? D'you reckon I could get a replacement from Apple for two dead pixels (they are in the centre of the screen though)?
If the pixel were dead it would not show any light, it would be dark and black. If it is stuck on red/purple as you say, then it is stuck... When rubbing it out push about as hard as you would want somebody to push on your eyeball, think about it that way. If it doesn't work, apply a bit more pressure gradually but don't over do it, remember your eyeball. To get Apple to take care of dead pixels you'd have to find their policy on it and see if you'd still be covered to get your display replaced. If the pixels are stuck and not dead it'd be harder to get it replaced.
you can actually press pretty hard without damaging the LCD.... think of a PDA screen and the stylus ... in fact, I have used a plastic stylus to massage pixels on my ibook ... works like a charm.
just don't use anything with a sharp point (the screen is plastic and CAN be scratched) ... and obviously a pen or pencil is a bad idea.

I really doubt that you could. I believe Apple's policy only applies to dead (not stuck) pixels and you have to have 6+ (I could be wrong, read the policy for more info).
