I read in Windoze forums about tweeks they to to their registry and sttings that make their download speed dramatically faster. Is there such tweeking available for OSX?

I got a 1.1 megabit connection but downloads are only about 140-150 kbs.

Faster is better.

    Yes. Use Broadband Optimizer.

I think I read somewhere that there are a few tricks to uncap your line but your ISP also has a few tricks to figure out your shenanigans and that, from what I recall, could lead to a mess of trouble. Though it would be nice to have a 10Mb line for a while.

This is preety cool. I installed the Optimizer and did a speed test and before I was getting 1.1 megabits. Now I get 1.2 megabits. Internet browsing does feel snappier!

Download went up from 137 to 140 kbps
