I'm sad. I'm going to call Apple tomorrow, Thank God it is still under warranty.

First I have the Phantom data problem, now my music on it has vanished, while the settings on it says that little bit of HD space is still occupied and iTunes won't recognize it.

Any ideas, anyone have this problem also? Any help would be greatly appreciated being that I would much rather hold on to the ipod and have my music with me than sending it off.

Have you tried restoring it using the iPod updater?

It doesn't sound like much is left on your iPod to back up. I second the restore option and try to start from scratch. There are still a handfull of bugs in the iPod software and I am sure Apple is working hard to take them out. Good luck.

Tried the ipod software updater, both versions that I found in Utilities. The windows open and will do nothing, the buttons are greyed, it won't even allow me to close it with the red, yellow green buttons. All I can do is quit it.
