Actually, Eudora rules all around. It's always fast, the search function is practically instantaneous (Compared with mail.app, which gets slower the larger your mailboxes get)

But did I mention the spam filters? This morning, I checked my mail, and saw I had 30 messages. 28 were spam, and 2 were for me, and Eudora figured it all out. Mail.app was decent at this, but nowhere near as competent as Eudora.

Although I do miss the "Bounce to Sender" option. Which doesn't work for spam, only for annoying people who insist on sending you things, and you don't know how to politely turn them down.

I am thinking if 2 out of 30 messages you receive are spam then how fast safari does searches is the least of your worries!

I have a myrealbox.com account and I don't get a single piece of spam from anyone that I didn't ok when I signed up for that company, and not a single piece that I can't unsignup myself for. (did I just make that word up?)

you can't use the spam filters in the free version of Eudora, and that is frustrating

I really liked Eudora's philosphy regarding payment. It was simple, if you don't pay, you look at an ad, if you pay, no more ad. Now they are both forcing users to look at the ad, and disabling features! It seems to me that they are doing a bit of double dipping.

But it is a great app, and maybe someday when i have money, i'll bite the bullet and pay for the full version.

I did the day Eudora 6 was released and never regretted it. I currently have a spam/ham ratio as bad as 75%, but only about 1-2 spam mails come through. In the first week or so, false positives were a bit of a problem, but the filters are trained now.

This is the workhorse of email applications.
