The iPod is already capable of doing some of the things they are talking about in that article. You can boot from it (not recommended) you are able to store your Home directory on it so you can access it from other computers. Although it isn't capable of doing a few of those things, Apple is ahead of the curve, always has been. We'll see many of those technologies in the future and you can bet Apple will be the first to do most of them, with the iPod.
