As a .Mac subscriber they should have offered 10.3 at a discount, instead of giving me useless game.

Thats my 2 cent of the day

Instead of giving you useless games?

If you're dissatisfied with Apple's .Mac service, then don't purchase it. There are plenty of cheaper mail and web space alternatives.

sound like he chose the game while I did, while I chose the game(it was a bet, get the game, or let it expire while waiting for osx), when OSx was announced, I was like "oh well, I chose game, my fault", but he seems to be more of the type "Damn apple! damn them for all the things wrong in the world!"

They did offer a $20 gift certificate to the Apple Store. Or you can sell that "useless" game and get some cash instead. That's what I'm planning on doing. I figure I can get about $20 for Everquest through amazon.com's marketplace. That reduces the cost some. Or if you don't think Panther is worth paying for, you don't have to use it.

Where did you get the idea I was dissatisfied with the .mac service?

I re-upped as soon as they sent me the notice.

I was just saying, instead of offering me games, which I will not play, give me a discount to OS X when it comes out. Give me something useful as an incentive, bet more people will sign up for .mac if this was an option for continuing the service. Thats all I'm trying to say.

    Take a chill pill.

Uh, did you miss the other posts here? Apple DID offer a $20 discount. You could have chosen that and applied it to your Panther purchase rather than choosing a game.

Uh, while I was typing my reply, others replied, so yes I did miss it.

Why are you being a jerk?

And to others, stop masking assumptions. I already paid for my Panther, thank you very much.

This is just an idea to increase .mac subscriptions, thats all it is. It has nothing to do with my feelings towards .mac.

It give others incentives to join it, if you knew that you would get a discount when you become a member.

Guys, when I re-upped my .mac account, I chose the $20 Apple Store Online Gift Certificate. Unfortunately, your 'free gift' does not come until 4-6 weeks after your card is charged, so I have yet to get this $20 gift certificate yet.

So even if you chose the $20 gift certificate, you couldn't use it to buy Panther unless you waited to get it before upgrading, but that means you'd be waiting a month instead of getting it tomorrow.

I got my $20 discount "card" a week or so ago, a few days after my .Mac renewed, but a few weeks after I put the order in

Used it to buy Panther last night, natch.

Something must be wrong for you because I already got mine. I reordered .Mac on Oct 10th, I received the $20 coupon on Oct 14th. Plenty of time to order Panther. The coupon came as an "e-coupon" in my .Mac mail account that I can only redeem at the online apple store.

I can help. PM me that credit card number and I can confirm your shipment, and have a secondary machine shipped in case of an emergency with the first shipment. Think of it as a backup.

My mouse is constantly doing things like that too. Apple peripherals really suck!
