OS X boot disk

How can I make a boot disk that will startup in OS X 10.3? or is there no such thing. Im trying to run a defrag program but i just cant because i cant startup from anything other than those damn OS X install cds. Help!!

    Defrag program? What defrag program do you have that didn't come on a bootable CD?



    Anyhow, you can make one with BootCD. I don't know if it's compatible with Panther yet, though.

    i have norton system works...the boot cd or prorgram itself is incompatible with either Panther or the G5 processor. so the boot cd doesnt work and i just found that the actual program doesnt even work...so i dont know if making a boot cd will help...it's worth a try..thanks

    I would strongly recommend contacting Norton *first* and make sure that the version you have support Panther and the G5 to begin with.



    Norton is notorious for actually causing problems with some of its software and is known to break with major OS updates. I and several other members here actually recommend against getting Norton products for the Mac unless absolutely necessary.

    yeah, most apps. don't have support for booting on a G5 yet, including the CD's that Apple shipped for their AppleCare program.



    now that was impressive.



    it will likely be labled G5 bootable if it is.
