Computer won't see firewire drive but other Comps will

Last night i went to plug in my OWC Mercury 80 gig firewire 400 drive into my Powermac G4 1.25 GHZ (single proc.) w/ 768 MB Ram, 2 internal drives (1 80 gig and 1 30 gig).

I have NEVER had a problem with this computer connecting to this drive but last night, it descided it didn't want to see it at all. When in wouldn't mount in OS X or OS 9, i began to freak out thinking it was the drive itself. But i brought the drive to my family member's house and plugged it into his Dual 867 running X and it mounted and ran FINE. (This is when i chose to back up my files to DVD. BACKUP PEOPLE, AHHH!!!)

So my question is, why has my computer chosen to ignore my firewire drive. I don't have any other firewire devices to connect to see if they work with it. When the drive was connected, system profiler continued to say there were to devices on the firewire bus. Norton scaned the busses and did not find the drive at all. Please help!!!
