dual g5 cant get dvd burner tray to eject

could anyone tlel me if i am doing something wrong here. In order for me to get the dvd burner tray to come out of the g5, i have to go to toast 6.0.1 and say eject in order to insert a cd to copy data to my desktop. i tried the eject button on the keyboard and it didnt work. i changed the keyboard as i have a spare one that is brand new and that didnt work either. for some reason when i go to the file after i get a cd in, the eject is greyed out so im unsure what to do here.
