error code 1000 from disc util and netinfo manager

Hi,



I've had this problem for a while but always used the terminal to get the job done. Now it's starting to anoy me to the point I'm asking for help.



Does anyone know what I can do with this error code. I'm looking to upgrade to X.3 soon, and I want to be able to repair permissions and so forth.

    Have you tried booting from your 10.2 install CDs and running the Disk Utility there?



    Once the installer screen opens, I think Disk Utility is located under the Installer menu. From there you should be able to fix permissions and repair the drive.

    Yeah, that works, but I don't wanted to get the problem fixed. I get the same error when opening the netinfo manager, so I think it's something bigger. Maybe it has something to do my Java not running anymore. I installed Jag the day it was available and have never reinstalled. Maybe it's just time to reinstall to get a clean system...
