2 Questions: Fix Column View & Address Book Sync. Thanks!

Hey Genius's



2 Quick questions:



1. In Panther (and in Jaguar), every time I open my HD in Finder it defaults to Folder view, even though I prefer Column view and have set Finder's Preferences to open new windows in Column View...Can anyone help?



2. I have Mail.app connected flawlessly to my corporate Exchange server (using the IP address, since the name wouldn't resolve). Any idea how to get Address Book to sync? Thanks!

    1. each folder has its own saved preference for dealing with the different views. this preference is stored in a hidden file named '.DS_Store', in each folder that has a preference (even if you set it to global). The only cure I know of is to remove these .DS_Store files. If you are cool with the Terminal it isn't hard to do. A simple script could be devised to remove all of them infact.



    2. no clue.
