I have the same machine as you dude. I can get about 3.5 to 4 hours on a full charge but you have to turn off airport, bluetooth, dim the screen down abit. Than should get at least 3.5 to 4 hours.

    Tell me how that goes

Yea to get Apple's quoted numbers you have to turn everything down. Screen needs to be dimmed etc. And you'll not get 3+ hours playing Unreal tournament 2003.

    no idea,

i noticed from your sig. you've just standart ram config.

i#ve got an additional 512 piece. I *heard" that'll would matter. The more ram you got the less batterie live you have. Ram is an awfull sucking issue, isnt it?

I belive the opposite is true, the more ram you have, the less the machine has to access the HDD. think of the ipod for example, if you are switching songs and playlists often the battery life will decrease because it is using the harddrive more. If you leave one song on repeat, your will get the most out of your battery because it doesn't have to use the harddrive and just reads data from the ram.

PowerBooks and iPods are very differnet devices, but the same principals should apply, the differance might not be as dramatic on the Powerbook, however.

either way i'm sure it takes more energy to spin a harddrive than it does to keep data in ram.
