How to test a video card?

I just popped in a ATI 8500 in my dual 867 G4 replacing the GForce4MX.
Whats the best way to see if it was worth it?
Also, is there an update for OS 10.2.8?

Quake 3 is the best way to do benchmarking.

I replaced my ge4mx with a radeon 9000 and the difference was very noticeable upon installation, all round a better opengl/quartz experience.
