iMac won't stop redialing.

My mom's iMac (333 G3) is set up so that it will automatically connect to the internet when needed in the PPP options. She is on dial up.



We took this to mean that if she opened Mail or Safari that internet connect would automatically dial up to connect to the internet.



It dials when you restart. (No apps open.) It dials when it wakes up from sleep. Once it starts dialing, it is hard to make it stop.



We finally unchecked this option and now she connects by first opening internet connect.



Any ideas? Version 10.2.6.

    do you have the clock set to verify via a network time server?

    Check the "launch " & start-up items list in your control panels.

    Thanks for the replies. I will have her check both. I am thinking it is the clock.
