How to Mount NT drives?

Good morning,

I work for a large company whose IT department is Windows only (other than a few subversive people like myself) so I can't get any official support.

I can connect via Cisco VPN 3.7 software to our network, I can run Citrix, and I can run Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection. What I can't figure out how to do is how to mount Windows Server drives. When I am connected via VPN, and I double click on the "My network" icon, I just get my computer name. Is there a way that I can mount Windows2000 drives like I can using my PC at work?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Rene Schmidt

Under Finder click on Go - Connect to Server and in the Server Address field type in SMB://123.123.123.123 (123 being the ip address of the smb share).

You will be prompted for domain user password.

This all depends on how your systems-admin(s) set things up. If it is a simple peer-to-peer SMB neiborhood, then they are simply not routing the NetBUI traffic through the VPN, and all you have to do is to Connect-to-Server and type in smb://IP.Address.Here. They could also have a dedicated WINS server, which you could add into your SaMBa settings thorough SWAT (http://localhost:631). And the final possibility is they could be using Windows Advanced Server authentication... in which case I can't be of any help.. but it would be possible with knowledgeable admin help.
