Hey

Does anyone know how to get a new IP address from Verizon DSL. I go to Network, and renew or release IP but when I set it up again, I get the same IP! What the heck is up with this. Does anyone know how to get a new one.

Thank You.

...why would you want to do that? If you've got internet access, it shouldn't matter what your IP is. People usually have to pay extra to have a static IP like that

The only way I could force a new IP without getting my old one back was to change the MAC address of my router. I don't think you can do that on Mac's and PC's though.

He's probably been banned from some warez site or something like that and he wants to get back in.

Try setting another device manually to use the trouble TCP/IP settings. Perhaps if the DHCP server sees something else using that IP, it will release it.
