I think Panther killed my graphite base station

First, I'm aware that the graphite base stations have a history of burning out, but mine had been working fine for 3 yrs. Only after installing panther did I start to have problems.

It began with intermittent losses of signal for about a week. Then it stopped responding altogether.

But these problems began immediately after installing panther (and the immediately following updates via software update).

At first I thought it might be related to the DHCP connection problem which had been documented by Apple, so I tried to change the "distribute IP addresses option" via ethernet, but the base station doesn't appear at all. Even with a paper clip reset all I'm getting is the flashing oranges.

P.S. This might look like a Genius Bar post, but I wanted to see if anyone else experienced this problem.
