Food is something that is interesting to me. It's something I think many AIers have in common, except for type of diet, we all got's ta eat.

My diet these days is mostly the same as most US Americans. When at home it was a lot more varied, a lot of Korean, some German and Mexican. A lot of the Korean dishes I can't even remember the name. I've tried making much of it on my own but it just isn't the same as Mom's.

So what are you eating? What have you been eating? Right now I'm eating Somen noodles with soy sauce and sesame oil. I figure that there should be some interesting dishes being consumed depending on where in the world you are from.

Prawn burritos, fish tacos. Yum! (Lots of great "pacific style" mexican restaurants in the Bay Area)

Also, El Salvadoran food. They have these things called "Pupusas" that are sort of really good and fresh hot pockets. (Anybody of El Salvadoran ancestory on these boards, I apologize for that gross characterization of your delicious foodstuffs). And the people (the ones that run the restaurants at least) are among the nicest I've met.

Hooray for Bay Area everything-on the-planet cuisine!

Tonight: BBQ chicken pizza--BBQ sauce, chicken (of corse), red onion, garlic, feta and everyone's favorite, Mozzeralla cheese, all on a whole wheat crust. And the best part? I didn't have to cook it; my husband did! *the crowd goes wild!* [edit: this is actually based on a pizza we used to get at a place called Bison Creek Pizza in West Seattle. Alas, the pizzaria was bought out by "Popa Johns," so we had to learn to make our own. ]

Otherwise, halibut, salmon (real Pacific salmon, not that limp-a** farm raised Atantic salmon), dall sheep and moose when we can get it. And tofu. We bought the kids tofu hotdogs and didn't tell them for fear of the, well, "expected" reaction. We finally broke down and told them. They cheered! We are either doing something very right or something very very wrong.
