Data CDs won't mount

After installing Panther on my iBook G3 366, some of my data cds won't mount. When I insert a cd in the cd drive it will only spin and make noise, it won't display on the desktop or anywhere else. Music cds play fine. I tested my cds in another computer and they work, they don't seem to work only on my machine. Help!
