Changing Mail's Get Mail

Without getting in too much detail, I have two e-mail in boxes but only one accout with filters to automatically sort incoming mail into the right box. Clicking Get Mail attempts to check for new mail for both accounts, which fails, of course, for the second in box becuase there is no account to check.



Is there any way to change the default Get Mail setting to check only the first in box?



Alternatly, how would I add a keyboard shortcut? I've gone into the Keyboard pref pane, and tried to add a shortcut without success. In the Menu Field I've typed "In Box #1", the exact name, and gave it a unique shortcut.

PS. I realize that I could have the mail sorted into different folders instead fo different in boxes, but without getting into too much detail, I would rather not handle e-mail that way.

    In the "Advanced" panel in the Account preferences, you need to deselect the option to "Include when automatically checking for new mail" for the account that isn't actually a real account.
