is the new ibook really a g4? for some reason i remember reading that ibm was redesigning the g3 and was able to get some substantion speed boosts actually surpassing the g4 in many areas, and that apple was going to keep using the g3 under the g4 name simply because of the speed. i was wondering if anybody had more information about this or could verify what i read. i've been trying to find the article again with no avail so i figured this would be the place to go. thanks.

Yeah, that's true. And the iBook is actually a re-branded Dell.

There was already a thread about this subject, the I book chip is a 7455 G4 from Motorola.
