Quality of iPod FireWire Cable?

I just got an iBook to complement my G5 and need to transfer a bunch of files over. I figure that Target Disk mode will be my best option, but the only FireWire cable I have living around is the one that came with my 5 Gig iPod. Should this do the job? Has anyone had any problems using this cable for data transfer?

    I wouldn't have to many qualms about it. I have used to cable to connect two iBooks (one in Firewire Target mode), and I was a bit shaky about it (after all, that's a couple thousand dollars worth of equipment to fry). But nothing happened. Everything okay. You may want to avoid using the cable on heavy disks that don't have their own AC adapter (drawing juice from Firewire), but other than that. Plug away is what I'd say.
