iBook Trackpad doesn't work Help!!!!

Hi Guys,



I turned on my iBook today to discover that the trackpad no longer works. I can still click with the mouse button but the trackpad doesn't work at all!!!



What the deuce is happening???



I'm hoping it's not a hardware failure!

    That's bad news, stevegongrui. I'm not saying you have the same problem as I had, but I did have a hardware problem. You can read about it here.



    Notice the pic? If you have a #0 philips screwdriver, you can easily open up the iBook to have a look for yourself. Of course, you have to exclude software issues first. Delecte cache, repair permissions, reset PRAM and NVRAM, and all that stuff.

    he cleaned off the ice cream and rebooted.

    his trackpad is fine now. i told him butter pecan was dangerous.....

    What Der Koph said. Try all the usual fixes, open it and check it out. Than call apple if all else fails.
