Connecting OSX and OS9 machines

I have not yet moved to OSX, but plan to soon with a G5. Question: Can I connect my G3 (OS9) to my G5 with a crossover cable and share files the way I always have betwen my "classic" machines?

Yep, both should show up on the other as servers. Should be no problem.

PS... since the G5 will have GigaBit ethernet, you don't even need a crossover cable. It will automatically detect the cable type, and adjust for it.
