I get home from work and for the first 15 minutes I'm home I get spammed with a bunch of stupid "Disconnect" dialog boxes because I'm no longer connected to my company's network. I know I'm not on my network, so it's pretty dumb that Panther needs to spend the next 15 minutes telling me it can't connect to those resources any longer. There should be a simple way to tell it "Disconnect All" so at the least I only have to see the dialog once rather than have all these modal dialogs interrupt me

Yeah, OS X has never been great on that. My personal favorite is unplugging a 10.2 TiBook from the network, and watching it go up in smoke as the CPU cycles jump to 100% over the next five minutes. It sucks.

Panther's better than Jag, but still not the ideal solution.

    Simple.

Make a Location named Offline, and turn off all network interfaces. Done.
