Will a 256Mb memory chip from a snow G3 iBook which I used to have work in a new G4 iBook? Am I right in saying that the old iBook used PC100 chips whilst the new one uses PC210? Thanks in advance

They won't work. Old G3 iBooks use PC100 or PC133 memory, and new ones use PC2100 DDR, which has a different number of pins.

    Er . . .

    Ok..

No, they do not work. New Apple iBook G4 laptops require you to purchase memory that is new in design and will not fit into older machines. Similarly, RAM sticks from older laptops will not fit into new Apple iBook G4 laptops.

    Getting warmer?

Sorry, should have been clearer, your first answer was perfect and answered my question perfectly, still wasn't what I wanted to know however, as it means I need to go buy some new memory. Thanks once again!
