I have no clue where this would go or where this discussion is going to lead.... Anyway, my fiancee is digging her iBook more and more, but she wants to be able to send animated smilies in her emails like her friend can. Is this possible? She's using mail.app and a .mac account. I know, I know, rich text email is bad, yada yada. I don't use it but she wants to. So, there's the question. Anyone got any answers? TIA.

I think if you drag a gif in like a normal image it will be animated for the PC's. I don't know if it's a programming problem or what but OS X doesn't handle gifs well. I know AIM doesn't animate them, I dont know about iChat.

The thing is, she can get animated gifs in her emails from her friend and they show up like they should in mail.app. She tried sending herself an animated gif to see if it works and it wasn't animated.
