There are others. But the point is that if you didn't support the war, you can't make money on it. I can't believe the audacity of the US on this issue. It's absolutely ridiculous. War is something that shouldn't be taken lightly and they're trying to use the spoils of war as a decision making factor.

$$$$ing ridiculous.

Haliburton is making 26¢ a gallon on gas it imports from Kuwait. Normally gas import profits are very tight...

if you're even a half cent off in your bid... you don't get the contract... but since Haliburton had no competition... the american tax payer gets mugged.

"A company's profits on the transport and sale of gasoline are usually razor-thin, with companies losing contracts if they overbid by half a penny a gallon. Independent experts who reviewed Halliburton's percentage of its gas importation contract said the company's 26-cent charge per gallon of gas from Kuwait appeared to be extremely high."

I think Wolfowitz's barring Germany, France and Russia from any contracts is going to cause James Baker some serious headaches... he was going to try to get debt relief or debt restructuring from those very same countries who are owed billions from Iraq.

Wolfowitz's move has probably done real damage to the rebuilding effort. HIs revenge shot will ricochet and hit us in the head.
