I am getting ready to make some DVD's from some digital video cassettes. What I am wondering is it quicker / better to use one of the internal drives 250 and 160 ATA (dual 2.0 G5) or use an external firewire drive? Each of the cassettes is about 60 minutes. Suggestion and reasons are appreciated.

i may be wrong, but if you are just dumping the video from tape to dvd without any editing it wouldn't matter much. both of those drives are fast enough for capture and although the G5s are fast, i don't think they will be rendering the video so fast that the HDDs can't keep up.

If you're editing it is best to use different drives for video and audio, and faster is always better.
