Is this a bug in the activity monitor or what? Anyone else encounter this?

It bugs me just a little because I rarely open activity monitor but I am still curious.

    Yea.

Isn't the percentage a combination of both processors? (100% of total CPU power)

Even so, it often increases past 200%.

Look at the picture. SETI alone is using *more* than 200%. Add in the other totals and he's got a tri-processor machine?

To go beyond 200% would have to be a bug. 200% is normal for dual machines; 100% for each CPU. Do you get the same numbers if you run "top -du" in the terminal?

I get around 170% in top -du

    I feel better now.

(And poking around in the terminal was fun. Second time I used it! 8) )

OT: Now brad, You and I both know there is no such thing as a tri-processor machine. He would need a quad.
