help with keyboard shortcuts

ok the only thing i need to add to my panther is making the F4 button open up a finder window. i've tried in system prefs, but i cant get it to work. how do i do it (or can i)? thanks.

    Hmm. I know if you click on the Finder icon in the dock, it will open a new window if one isn't open already.



    That might not be your answer, but it's a start.

    ya i'm just trying to make the interface even faster.... i use my keyboard like its another mouse, and opening finder is one thing i cant do with my keyboard that would really speed up my workflow.

    and CMD-TAB to cycle to Finder, then CMD-N isn't convenient enough?

    didnt even think to try cmd-n... that'll work, even hough i'd still rather have my f4 key do it..
