10.3 and Logic Audio Gold crashing
After I've upgraded to 10.3 (.2 now) and Logic Gold 6.3.1, it crashes when using automation. Here's a description:
---
Logic (6.3.1) crashes for me when doing automation editing (Volume) with Hyper Draw on tracks.
I don't think it's related to audio driver or plugins: I have used both Built-in Audio and Multichannel Delta 1010LT, and no audio driver at all. There have been no plugins or sends active on the tracks where the crash has occurred.
The system is a clean install of OS X 10.3, and Logic has recently been reinstalled just to be sure.
The crash happens in the following scenario:
When I have an audio region, I copy it and place the copyto the right. I let the tracks overlap and create a crossfade. I then select the tracks and enable Volume Hyper Draw. I set some points in the first region (usually a fade up from silence to 0.0db or similar). I then continue to edit automation points in the copied audio region. Some times the crash happens now, but not always. I then saved and close and re-open the file. I then click to make some more automation points. This is when the cursors turns into something that looks like an underscore (_) and Logic crashes. I get the Try To Save Your Song dialog (which works) and a stack trace (see below -- I do realize it's probably not very useful since I guess both Emagic and Apple strip any debug info). Some times it takes a few clicks (3-4) on the track to make it crash.
Here's a screenshot of how it looks:
(Going to attach image)
This crash also happens when opening old songs and click on a track with Volume Hyper Draw enabled.
Here's an example song/crash test case that I can reproduce it with:
