FedEx Shipping Can Sometimes Be (You Won't Believe What You See)....
Here's how an iMac arrived at the poor fellow's address. Go here for the story:

You'd sorta think the FedEx guy would be embarrassed to drag that mess up to your front door.

holy moly! that imac box looks like it took a detour thru the bombing missions in kabul. or else it really was on the island with tom hanks and he dragged it on his raft just to deliver it. or maybe he used it as a raft...
lucky there was even a fed ex GUY to drag it up the steps. (yes dont get me started--lol!) not a stupid woman who made me go fetch it from the truck-- and im smaller than she was. but my box had only one dent on it, which i made from tying the bungee cords around the luggage cart.
This guy made a bad choice keeping this machine.

Actually, seeing as how the FedEx driver probably had nothing to do with the condition of the box, I would have enlisted him to help me resolve the issue. I'd have asked him all sorts of non-accusatory questions about how best to deal with refusing the shipment (which I absolutely would do - that box would not enter my house) and getting a replacement quickly. Then I'd call Apple and my credit card company.
If my Mac comes in anything near that condition I will go B E R S E R K.
bye.
I can just see this thing being sent in 6 months from now..
"Sorry sir, it has water damage... that isn't covered by Apple Care."
"But it came like that. And a lady told me that if anything happened in the first year you'd replace it."
"Um, we don't do that, sir."
It's a time bomb. Just wait.
[edit] Wow. Murbot posted immediately before I did. This post is in reference to Macintosh going crazy, not Murbot's post.

Two rules of dealing with shipped merchandise.
1) Never tolerate incompetance
2) Always refuse mishandled boxes.
This guy was lucky!

If I saw the FedEx guy bring that to my door, I'd tell him to wait for a second, run to my room, fetch my camera and snap some photos before doing anything else.

LOL! I've got this mental image of a FedEx driver holding the damaged goods, looking like a deer caught in the headlights.
"Oh, you need proof that it arrived like that? Well, I just happen to have a snap of the FedEx man holding the battered box. Good enough?"
I'm just not suuuure if this is really what I had in mind.
That'd be greaaaat."

I'm guessing someone else has seen one of my favorite "crappy" movies.
