Hi.

Any iBook owners out there use an external display? Can you push 1280x1024 on an external display?

This would make it a perfect computer.. anyone?

The vid card CAN push well over 1280x1024. Maybe there's a hack?

It gets even better. Under OS9, you can turn off the LCD while connected to the ext. display by turning the brightness down to 0. Under OSX, if you turn the brightness down to 0, the ext. monitor port quits giving out a signal. I've mentioned/complained about this in other threads, I know. But this point just pisses me off.

Yeah, it pisses me off too. I've got a 15" LCD hooked up to my iBook and I wish I could turn off the iBook LCD some how.

You can always turn the iBook around so you don't see the display!

I tried that but couldn't because of where the ports are. I now have my iBook on the floor next to my external HD.
