Is it possible to make a copy of this DVD on my Powerbook?

Or do I need soem extra software to do it?

To make a disk image go to...

    Applications>Utilities>Disk Copy

Check your Preferences for imaging and under 'Imaging" > "Image type" select "DVD/CD Master" .. "Encryption" should be set at "none" and Segment size "Unlimited".

Go up to the tool bar and click on "File" then down to "New" , now you should see three more options in a pop window ...

Select "New image from device" then you should get another window listing your HD (disk 0) and any CD or DVD you have in the drive (disk 1)

Select your DVD and then click "Image".

The computer will take a while to image your disk and when ready insert a blank DVD, select your image and select "File" - "Burn Image".

Can't you just drag the files (the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders) to your hard drive?

Oh, you didn't say you wanted to do that. If you already have the DVD, why do you need to do that? And ipodandimac is right, the built-in DVD burner in OS X doesn't prepare the DVD as a video disc, it just burns them as regular files, but Toast will prepare it as a video DVD properly if you have it. Otherwise you'll just have to use iDVD to burn from your project files. But I thought you just wanted to keep a copy of the DVD on your hard drive.

You need to use the right format. UDF will work.
