Help with Fallout crashing?

I recently installed the OSX version of Fallout on my Mac. It runs fine, but every time I exit the game, the system continues to run, but the screen goes black and no mouse clicks or button presses will stop it. I end up hard booting the system with the power key. Does anyone have an idea to try?

I have already cleaned out the cache and reset permissions to no avail.



System spec:

1ghz iMac 17"

512mb RAM

OSX 10.2.8

    Does the system just hang or do you Kernal panic? Does the screen go completely black or does it give you a message saying "you need to restart your computer" in like 5 different languages. Try running an FSCK or repairing your disk by booting from your OS X disk. Info on how to do this can be found here.
