My wireless network setup

Here's how I have my home network set up:

Cable modem -> Linksys Router

Dell PC plugged into Linksys Router

Airport Extreme plugged in to Linksys Router

Is it possible to only connect the Airport Extreme to the cable modem and then plug the Dell Pc to the Airport Extreme? If so, what software does the Dell PC need?

    The APE only has one ethernet connector. Right? How you gonna plug two things into it?

    Why are you getting rid of the router? I'd just keep it the way it is and set the AEBS to be a transparent bridge.

    Everything works fine. I just want to make sure that I'm doing it the right way.

    How do make the AEBS a transparant bridge?

    Sounds like you got it all ok, you don't need to worry about transparent bridge.

    Your WAN port IS just like any other ethernet port. As long as its configured correctly (Your linksys and AEBS will probably both be set to auto by default and will work this out themselves), it doesn't matter if AEBS is connected to the cable modem or if there are 100's of routers between them.

    But, if you did want to get rid of the linksys, then you can just connect the dell to the LAN port. No specific software is required, its just standard TCP/IP network stuff.
